Nurse Specialist: Acute Care and Surgical Expert

Seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse for our Acute Care Med Surgical unit at TriStar Centennial Medical Center, located in Nashville, Tennessee. Job Summary:

This is a 36 bed unit that offers a unique opportunity to fine-tune your nursing skills and advance your career. Our acute floor takes a variety of diagnoses while specializing in peritoneal dialysis. You will have the chance to learn something new every day and grow with our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Requirements:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma, or Bachelors Degree
