About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery Step-down unit. As a member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery, including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition as appropriate.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, evaluating and updating them as necessary to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol, noting and carrying out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team, providing teaching and educational material as appropriate.
  • Validate and document patient and family understanding of teaching, maintaining professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing, with a BSN preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire.
  • Minimum one year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting required for acute care settings.
