Overview

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Substation Senior Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-voltage substation projects for utility systems and renewable energy interconnection projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply IEEE, NESC, NEC, and other applicable codes and standards in the engineering design
  • Produce one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, specifications, and I/O mapping
  • Work with internal and external project stakeholders to ensure project milestones and expectations are met
  • Perform all aspects of design for high voltage (4kV 230kV) and EHV (above 230kV) substation projects
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for design calculations and construction documentation
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines, such as transmission line engineers, distribution line engineers, and telecom engineers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized accredited program
  • Active PE license
  • Minimum of 6 years related work experience in high voltage substation design P&C
  • Proficient in use of AutoCAD or Bentley Microstation
  • Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code
  • Good knowledge of industry and technology trends specific to substations
