Join Our Team as a Part-Time Nurse

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled nurse to provide exceptional care to our students at Embark Behavioral Health in Independence, MO.

About the Role

As a part-time nurse, you will be the first responder when a teen reports pain or sickness, assessing their needs and determining the best care plan. Your day will include checking vital signs, distributing medications, and keeping meticulous records.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and respond to students' reports of pain or sickness
  • Determine the need for sick bed placement
  • Accompany students to clinics and communicate with parents and the Nursing Manager
  • Check vital signs, disperse medications, and maintain accurate records
  • Monitor and chart students' mood, behavior, and affect
  • Correlate lab draws and administer TB tests
  • Count and track narcotics every shift
  • Communicate medical information to the Treatment Team and Psychiatrist
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Licensed as an RN or LPN in Missouri
  • CPR Certification
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, techniques, and legal charting
  • Experience in medication administration and using nursing tools
  • Ability to check vital signs and communicate medical situations accurately to students, parents, and co-workers
  • Experience with health insurance submission processes and word processing software
Preferred Experience
  • Bedside hospital experience
  • Experience in medication administration and diabetic care
