Role Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on enhancing and optimizing manufacturing systems and processes, particularly in Injection Mold Processing and Production Validation. This role is pivotal in providing project updates and feedback to the management team, with a strong emphasis on fostering Continuous Improvement initiatives to drive positive transformations in manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead assigned Manufacturing Engineering projects.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to promote Continuous Improvement.
  • Innovate manufacturing processes and comprehend the technical aspects of products.
  • Utilize a hands-on approach to refine manufacturing processes through engineering principles.
  • Assist the Validation Team in the seamless transition of new programs into production, including the manufacturing line and production planning.
  • Configure products and supply manufacturing specifications to documentation teams for guide preparation.
  • Analyze product costs by evaluating raw material expenses and overall production costs.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing department to clarify technical concepts essential for the production process.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Identify and lead Continuous Improvement and Lean projects, either independently or collaboratively.
  • Gather data for capital equipment needs and develop budgets for Return on Investment and efficiency gains.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement meetings as necessary.
  • Engage with customers to support manufacturing engineering efforts as needed.
  • Support sales initiatives and programs as required.
  • Maintain positive interactions with all personnel.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Ensure that all safety features of equipment are maintained.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (5-7 years) in a related field.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing practices.
  • Background in Injection Mold Processing is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents.
  • Proficient in creating technical documentation for Injection Molding and other departments.
  • Skilled in presenting technical information to small groups.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to leverage modern technology in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with traditional manufacturing processes and concepts.
  • Strong computer, mathematical, reading, and writing skills.
  • Capable of defining problems, collecting data, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Adept at interpreting a variety of technical information and data efficiently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to navigate stairs.
  • Support cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Conduct job duties in compliance with ISO 13485/9001 standards, including audits.
  • Willingness to travel to support company initiatives.
