We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing environmental health and safety programs and standards to reduce the frequency and severity of issues related to environmental health and occupational safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement environmental health and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Conduct risk assessments and identify hazards at our locations to develop strategies for mitigation and prevention.

  • Provide guidance and direction to our community on best practices for environmental health and safety, and monitor trends to provide strategic direction.

  • Develop and manage budgets for environmental health and safety programs and monitor vendor performance.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement environmental health and safety programs and materials.

  • Conduct investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions to mitigate environmental health and safety hazards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, or related field.

  • Four years of related work experience or an associate degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field with six years of related work experience.

  • Industry certifications in Associate Safety Professional, Graduate Safety Practitioner, Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Hygiene & Safety Technician, or related certification.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a valid State of Texas driver's license within 90 days of employment.

  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

Working Conditions

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will work in a standard office environment and in the field environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Regular travel between all Dallas College locations using a personal vehicle and/or a college vehicle is required. Position involves occasional bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds while performing job duties.
