Job Title: Contingent Inpatient Pharmacist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Contingent Inpatient Pharmacist to provide clinical support and medication distribution services to ensure high-quality, safe, and cost-effective drug therapy to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and evaluate physicians' medication orders to ensure appropriate drug therapy for each patient.
- Review, maintain, and screen patient medication orders and profiles for allergies, drug-drug interactions, and therapeutic duplication.
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to intervene on unclear or inappropriate orders.
- Provide drug/poison information education programs to healthcare professionals.
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications and IV admixtures to inpatients and outpatients.
- Compound and dispense medications and injectables, adhering to USP 797/800 Guidelines.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns in distributive functions and department operations.
- Assist in training and orientation of new pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy interns.
- Maintain control and accountability for disposition of Controlled Substances, dangerous or toxic drugs, and investigational drugs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Registered pharmacist possessing or eligible for a Michigan Pharmacist and Controlled Substance license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Previous hospital, retail, or long-term care experience.
