Job Overview

Position Title: Production Team Member

Department: Manufacturing / Direct Compensation

Reports to: Production Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Type: Hourly

Position Objective: Responsible for the loading and unloading of components into automated welding cells, as well as canning, stuffing, or other assembly stations. Operates machinery including robotic welding cells and other assembly equipment to manufacture component parts or complete exhaust systems.

Key Responsibilities: The incumbent will ensure the following:

  • Select suitable components for loading into welding fixtures or cells.
  • Secure workpieces in the holding fixtures on the machine bed or turntable.
  • Initiate machine operations, monitor welding processes, and inspect welds for any defects.
  • Label exhaust systems or components and load them onto leak testing fixtures.
  • Scan finished parts, conduct leak tests, and place parts onto in-process flow racks.
  • Document setup and production metrics.
  • Participate in audit processes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the assigned work area.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, 5S, and TPM as required.
  • Operate machinery safely, identifying and reporting unsafe practices or conditions to the supervisor.
  • Recognize and address production issues such as raw material shortages, inventory discrepancies, and quality concerns.

Additional Responsibilities: The incumbent will also ensure:

  • Compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations while conducting business activities.
  • Adherence to all corporate health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Quality assurance by following ENA policies related to TS16949 and ISO 14001, seeking ways to enhance quality.
  • Completion of other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

Education / Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least three months of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of welding and metal forming techniques is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime as necessary.

  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence.

  • Demonstrates precision and thoroughness; monitors work quality.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role does not include supervisory duties.

Working Environment:

  • This position involves indoor work with exposure to mechanical hazards, fumes, and varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts and airborne particles while performing job duties.
