The Senior Principal Engineer in Financial Crimes Technology is a strategic expert who stays abreast of the latest developments in the field and applies them within their role and the organization. This position requires a recognized authority in one or more specialized areas, with a strong commercial acumen. Exceptional communication skills are essential for negotiating at senior levels within the organization, as well as some external communication. The role involves advanced judgment and conducting thorough quantitative or qualitative analyses to address challenges and devise innovative solutions. The individual must think beyond existing methodologies, assumptions, or current knowledge in complex domains, significantly influencing the function and/or the organization through decisions that shape technical strategies and approaches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a hands-on engineer contributing code while collaborating with engineering teams on complex delivery projects.
  • Mentor principal engineers throughout the organization, advocating for engineering excellence.
  • Engage as a stakeholder in product discussions, providing insights on requirements and promoting initiatives such as reducing technical debt, modernizing technology assets, and enhancing operational methodologies.
  • Exhibit profound technical expertise in software development, including programming languages, frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to the implementation of critical features and complex technical solutions, ensuring clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to the highest quality standards.
  • Guide the development of scalable, robust, and efficient solutions that align with business needs and industry standards.
  • Provide expert engineering support to multiple teams, assisting them in overcoming technical challenges and delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • Encourage a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
