About the Position:

We are looking for a skilled neurosurgeon with experience in functional neurosurgery to fill this full-time faculty position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, education, and research. As a member of our team, you will be expected to provide high-quality patient care, teach medical students and residents, and participate in academic research projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Work: Provide excellent patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with the possibility of performing adult/general neurosurgical services.
  • Teaching: Engage in teaching medical students, neurosurgery residents, and fellows, sharing your expertise and knowledge to shape the next generation of healthcare professionals.
  • Research: Conduct innovative research and/or clinical trials in collaboration with other PIs, learners, and students, contributing to the advancement of neurosurgery and improving patient outcomes.
  • Service: Participate in departmental, School of Medicine, and University committees, as well as professional activities such as reviewing manuscripts or organizing conferences.

Qualifications:

  • BC/BE in Neurosurgery: Hold a board certification or equivalent in neurosurgery.
  • Fellowship Training: Have completed fellowship training in functional neurosurgery.
  • Clinical Experience: Possess significant experience working in a clinical setting.
  • Virginia License: Be eligible for or hold a valid license to practice medicine in the state of Virginia.

Preferred Qualification:

  • General/Adult Neurosurgery Competency: Possess competency in general/adult neurosurgery.

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $400,000-$600,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
