Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs, assisting with academics, life skills, and self-help skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans, ensuring students receive the necessary support to achieve their goals.
  • Engage students in learning activities, implementing behavior plans, communication plans, and functional programs to promote social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Collect and record data on student progress, providing valuable insights to inform instruction and support.
Requirements
  • Two years of university credits in a related field preferred; extensive related experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Prior experience working with children in a school setting, with a focus on special education.
  • Ability to follow teacher direction and written plans, working effectively in a team setting to meet individual student needs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work with various office and classroom equipment/technology.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
