Role Summary:

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is in search of a skilled Principal Quality Engineer to enhance our operations in Baltimore, Maryland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, modify, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems for processing materials into finished products.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to uphold quality standards.
  • Design and implement methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating product precision and accuracy.
  • Conduct audits of quality systems to identify deficiencies and ensure corrective measures meet reliability standards.
  • Specialize in areas such as design, incoming materials, production control, and product evaluation.
  • Possess certifications in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5 years of relevant experience in Design Engineering, Production/Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering; or 3 years with a Master's degree.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills, with the ability to present to upper management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Possession of a Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with experience in SAP/MES transactions.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in project management or as a project lead.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processes.
  • Active DoD top secret clearance.
  • Certification as a Green/Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience with data analytics and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO9001 or AS9100.

Compensation: Salary range is $93,000 - $139,600, based on various factors including position responsibilities and candidate qualifications.
