Position Overview

Hourly Rate: $32/hr

The Facility Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in the upkeep and functionality of various mechanical and electrical systems within commercial environments. This position involves the independent execution of skilled tasks related to troubleshooting, operation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of air conditioning, heating systems, refrigeration, and other essential building systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure the efficient operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.
  • Perform heavy lifting and work in varying temperature conditions as required.
  • Manage the operation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of air conditioning systems, pumps, heat exchangers, and medical refrigeration units.
  • Rebuild pumps and install mechanical seals, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration systems, including electric, electronic, and pneumatic control systems.
  • Execute routine preventive maintenance tasks such as filter changes, lubrication, and performance checks using the facility's BAS and work order systems.
  • Evacuate refrigeration systems, conduct leak tests, and replace compressors in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain various chiller systems and ensure the operation of rooftop package units and split systems.
  • Promote a safe and accident-free workplace by exercising sound judgment and adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including flooding and snow removal, as necessary.
  • Participate in safety meetings and contribute to the emergency response team.
  • Understand and enforce the policies and procedures manual.
