Brevard County is seeking a Part-Time Safety Assistant to ensure the safe and orderly crossing of school-age children at assigned locations. The ideal candidate will have no formal education, training, or experience required, but experience as a crossing guard or working with elementary school-age children is preferred. The selected individual must be of good moral character, pass a personal background investigation, and meet the Brevard County Performance Checklist for School Crossing Guards. The role involves standing for 1-3 hours, walking for 1-3 hours, and performing simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive physical activities. The working conditions include working closely with others, in cold, damp, or hot environments, and with poor lighting. The selected candidate will be required to perform emergency duties as directed in the event of a hurricane, major storm, or natural disaster. The hourly rate is $15.00, and the work schedule is part-time, 2 hours daily, on school days. If you are a detail-oriented and safety-conscious individual, please apply for this role.
