Position Overview
The Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer plays a pivotal role in providing technical expertise and support to our manufacturing teams, including machining, fabrication, and assembly.

This role involves creating efficient processes for new product lines while employing structured problem-solving techniques to enhance productivity, reduce costs, improve quality, and meet delivery targets for existing products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement top-tier machining, fabrication, and assembly processes to support our leading-edge products.
  • Drive improvements in manufacturing techniques by working closely with colleagues and suppliers to pinpoint achievable enhancements in quality, cost, and efficiency.
  • Develop product routings, bills of materials, and time standards within the ERP system.
  • Analyze data from the ERP system to identify areas for improvement and develop actionable plans.
  • Recognize opportunities for capital investments that will mitigate supply risks, lower manufacturing costs, enhance quality, and boost customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and compile necessary data to back proposals.
  • Formalize investment suggestions and document tangible financial benefits.
  • Oversee projects to ensure the realization of anticipated benefits.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, control plans, and other essential process documentation.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and the reduction of waste in all work processes.
  • Ensure that safety and quality are integral to every phase of manufacturing and testing.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and procurement teams to maximize the value provided by supply partners.
  • Evaluate new components, assist in the approval of new suppliers, and address supplier quality issues.
Qualifications
  • Experience with structured process improvement methodologies, with formal training in Lean and/or Six Sigma.
  • A proven track record of applying quality principles to manage production processes, including statistical analysis, auditing, PFMEA, calibration systems, and corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Hands-on experience with automation systems.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in developing and enhancing machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
  • An Associate's degree or higher in a technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
