Position Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for executing a range of routine and skilled maintenance tasks within a pharmaceutical environment. This role involves ensuring the optimal operation of various systems and equipment while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
Work Schedule:
12-hour shifts from 5 AM to 5 PM, following a rotating schedule:
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday
Overtime opportunities are available, with the potential for 4 hours of additional work each day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and facilities under general supervision.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and repair various systems, including boilers, chillers, air compressors, and HVAC systems.
- Install and modify mechanical power transmission components and systems according to technical specifications.
- Diagnose and rectify issues in electronic control systems, including motors and sensors.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring machinery and equipment are lubricated and functioning correctly.
- Utilize tools and equipment to move and install machinery according to layout plans.
- Set up and operate shop equipment, including hand tools and machine tools.
- Assemble and align machinery using precision instruments.
- Apply metal joining techniques for equipment installation and repair.
- Document maintenance activities using CMMS software to maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with the Utilities Engineer to enhance equipment performance.
- Complete work orders for emergency, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements and complete necessary training.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC maintenance within various environments.
- Associate's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience with Building Automation Systems, preferably Johnson Controls Metasys.
- EPA certification for stationary refrigeration and air conditioning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in maintaining cleanrooms in pharmaceutical settings.
- Knowledge of boiler operations and water treatment processes.
- Experience with purified water systems and HVAC pneumatic controls.
- Training in welding and light machining.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
