Visitor Experience Associate

At the New York Hall of Science, we are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Visitor Experience Associate to join our team. As a key member of our Visitor Experience team, you will play a critical role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our visitors, ensuring that their experience is memorable and enjoyable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet visitors, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
- Engage with visitors, answer questions, and provide information about our exhibits and programs.
- Process sales and ticket check-in, ensuring that visitors have the necessary information to have a fruitful experience.
- Promote our membership, all-inclusive tickets, and ancillary activities, becoming an ambassador for our variety of tickets and products.
- Support the operation of all visitor-facing programs, events, and activities, and assist with daily sanitization and organization of workstations and ticketing and survey instruments.
- Promote social distancing and other hygiene etiquette in accordance with our policy, and support visitor experience research efforts through data collection, data entry, and data preparation.
- Be conversant in our mission, exhibitions, programs, and related content, and prepare and maintain all materials needed for daily operations.
- Actively participate in all training opportunities, including new exhibit content, visitor engagement strategies, improving customer service, and learning how to initiate conversations with visitors to invite feedback and response to exhibitions.
- Consistently provide feedback and observations to the management team to ensure our department's operational guidelines, policies, and procedures are up-to-date and efficient.
Requirements:
- 2 years' experience working at a museum or related management experience.
- Commitment to our philosophy and mission.
- Demonstrable experience training and working with teams.
- Strong communications skills with the ability to express ideas clearly in written and oral communications.
- Experience serving diverse audiences.
- Ability to communicate with others clearly and comfortably approaching individuals or groups.
- Ability to provide information to supervisors and other coworkers in person, in writing, or by telephone.
