Position Purpose
The Vocational Nurse is tasked with delivering direct patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse.
Key responsibilities encompass adhering to the care plan, administering treatments, and collaborating with team members to achieve favorable patient care results.
Key Responsibilities/SkillsDelivers direct patient care as outlined in the State Nurse Practice Act.
Executes care plans established by the clinician.
Ensures precise and timely documentation in alignment with the care plan.
Evaluates and provides education and information to patients and their families/caregivers relevant to the diagnosis and care plan.
Engages in the coordination of home health services, effectively communicating identified needs for additional disciplines (Home Health Aide, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Medical Social Work, Speech Therapy, and Dietetics) to the clinician and/or clinical manager.
Utilizes equipment and supplies in a cost-effective manner.Participates in ongoing personal and professional development.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Must receive monthly supervision by an RN as per agency policy.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program.
Preferred three years of nursing experience, with a focus on community/home health or medical/surgical settings.
Currently licensed as a vocational nurse in the State.
Adheres to accepted professional standards and practices.
Exhibits strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
Must possess a valid driver's license with an insured vehicle that meets state and organizational requirements and is in good working condition.
Must hold and maintain current BLS Hands-On CPR Certification.Blood Draw and/or IV Certification required.
Travel Requirements: This position involves travel. Must maintain a valid driver's license, active auto insurance meeting state minimum requirements, and an operational vehicle.
Compensation: $28 - $32 per hour
