Job Summary

This position is an exciting opportunity to join the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks as a Physician (Hematology/Oncology). As a medical specialist, you will provide consultation services and follow-up care to patients with oncologic conditions in the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients with oncologic conditions, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
  • Complete documentation and coding of visits accurately to ensure timely care for patients.
  • Evaluate, triage, and prioritize oncology consult requests to ensure timely care for patients.
  • Conduct telemedicine visits for patients in outlying clinics.
  • Perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as peer reviews, Compensation and Pension evaluations, and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations.
  • Coordinate care at VA or non-VA referral centers for patients requiring services not provided at the facility.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, process improvement teams, and workgroups as requested.
  • Complete CME as required to maintain competency in Oncology and medical licensure.
  • Complete HIPAA, Privacy and Security, and other mandatory VA trainings in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience
  • Board certification in Hematology/Oncology.
Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
