Job Title: Finishing Operator

Graphic Packaging International is seeking a skilled Finishing Operator to join our team at our Staunton, VA facility. As a Finishing Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining folder/gluer equipment and processes to produce high-quality folding cartons.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and maintain folder/gluer equipment to produce folding cartons
  • Locate and load proper stock in preparation for operation
  • Prepare make-ready feeder, prefold, glue system, final fold, delivery, pack station, and inspection system
  • Operate folder/gluer in accordance with customer specifications and current standard operating procedures
  • Ensure total quality of the job while in operation
  • Maintain the machine and area in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Demonstrate competency in all basic folds: straight-line, lock-bottom, inner partition, etc.
  • Complete all job logs as required
  • Perform other job duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED or at least three years of professional working experience, preferred in a manufacturing environment
  • Skills: Mechanical
  • Ability to read and follow instructions
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve gluer problems
  • Mechanical aptitude
Work Environment:

This position will work a 12-hour shift (day or night) which follows a day schedule OR a 10-hour day shift that works 5-days per week; overtime during the week and weekends may be required based on production needs and vacation coverage.
