Job Title: Pharmacy Technician - Non Certified

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Hy-Vee. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and assisting our pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
* Assists pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications.
* Maintains accurate patient information and enters prescription and patient data into the computer.
* Assists in maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy and dispensing area.
* Performs cash transactions and handles customer payments.
* Maintains confidentiality of customer private medical information according to HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Working towards a licensed technician certification through a certified national program.
* Previous experience as a pharmacy clerk is preferred.
* Ability to physically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions:

This position frequently involves a fast work pace in a retail store setting. Must be able to handle multiple tasks every day. There is an occasional exposure to dangerous chemicals/solvents while compounding products and chemotherapy drugs.

Equipment Used:

PC with pharmacy software and printer, cash register, C.A.R.S. ordering system, pharmacy balance, scanner, calculator, telephone, fax, and copier.

Confidentiality:

Maintains the confidentiality of the customer's private medical information according to the HIPAA act.
