Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Orthopedic Nurse Specialist, responsible for independently planning and providing professional nursing care for patients with post-operative spine, ortho-spine, and neuro-spine conditions, as well as those diagnosed with stroke and/or neurology-related procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, provide, supervise, and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.
  • Use professional nursing judgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of the patient's baseline needs and response to care.
  • Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
  • Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and act as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program required; may consider hiring without BSN degree if RN hired between July 1, 2014, and April 11, 2021.
  • Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience required; CNIs eligible for promotion to CNII by meeting criteria set forth by the DUHS Vizient Nurse Residency Program within 12 months of hire.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Working Conditions:

This role requires prolonged standing and walking, ability to navigate the entity, and work collaboratively with others.

Estimated Salary: $93,000 - $120,000 per year
