KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively monitor and provide constructive feedback on the team's operations to mitigate unsafe practices, pinpoint safety concerns, and ensure that corrective measures are implemented.
  • Manage injury response, including administering basic first aid, conducting thorough investigations into incidents, and facilitating return-to-work processes as necessary.
  • Carry out routine evaluations of work sites, closely observing and offering guidance on the crew's activities, tools, and equipment to eliminate risks and recognize unsafe behaviors; advise on and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Engage actively in the preparation of forthcoming tasks on-site to assist the team in identifying potential safety challenges and devising solutions.
  • Support the creation, execution, and documentation of safety orientations for all new personnel, subcontractors, and relevant visitors.
  • Collaborate with project management to establish emergency preparedness plans, which include identifying local emergency services, establishing warning signals, evacuation points, and escape routes.
  • Design and implement systems to guarantee the safe handling of all hazardous materials, including their proper usage, storage, transportation, spill management, and disposal.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety and environmental regulations as mandated by state and federal laws.
  • Conduct regular industrial hygiene and environmental assessments.
  • Participate in the corporate safety audit process and the necessary follow-up actions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree, preferably in a safety-related field.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in workplace safety within the construction sector is preferred.
  • Certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid is mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Certifications such as CHST, OHST, STS, CSP, or EMT are advantageous.
  • A background in physical therapy is beneficial.
