Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Fire Paramedic to join our team at the City of West Jordan. As a Fire Paramedic, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing medical care and transportation to patients, and participating in fire prevention and suppression activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care and transportation to patients
  • Participate in fire prevention and suppression activities, including conducting fire inspections and enforcing fire safety codes
  • Operate a variety of fire apparatus and equipment, including fire trucks and medical units
  • Perform administrative duties, including maintaining records and preparing reports
  • Assist in training and educating other firefighters and emergency medical personnel
Requirements
  • Valid Utah Driver's License
  • Utah State Firefighter I & II Certifications within one year of employment
  • Utah State Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Certifications within one year of employment
  • Utah State Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic Certification
  • Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • American Heart Provider (CPR) certification
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

The Fire Paramedic will work in a fast-paced emergency environment, responding to a variety of emergency calls and situations. The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, run, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 125 pounds. The Fire Paramedic will also be exposed to cold, heat, smoke, noise, outdoors, vibration, confining workspace, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards.
