Structural Mechanic II Job Description

Aviation Technology Associates, LLC is seeking a skilled Structural Mechanic II to join our team in Savannah, GA.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to perform a variety of structural assembly operations in a production department. The successful candidate will work under minimal supervision, ensuring that all parts and assemblies meet the required standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and fit detail parts and structures, performing drilling and riveting operations as required.
  • Rivet structural assemblies and parts using various tools, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine the sequence of operations.
  • Check all work to ensure a defective-free assembly prior to final inspection.
  • Maintain and use logs and records, including MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, and PCOs.
  • Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
  • Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags, Material Review Request, and Production Change Orders, ensuring installations meet conformity.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supporting the company's 5S Program and complying with all safety regulations.
  • Work with minimal supervision on duties and tasks, supporting Lean Activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years related structural assembly experience.
  • Experience working with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must be skilled in close tolerance work and have knowledge of special tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to use mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to read a scale and perform basic shop math.
  • Read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.
  • Must have essential personal skills, including a professional attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work with people.
  • Must demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work any shift.
  • Must be able to climb ladders/stands/stairs and work in small spaces and/or restricted areas.
Benefits

The estimated pay rate for this position is $25.66 per hour.
