We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Aerotek. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Vehicle Inspection and Diagnostic Tests: Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to determine vehicle condition and identify worn or damaged parts.
- Repair and Maintenance: Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports, and conduct safety checks on vehicles.
- Preventive Maintenance: Recognize and complete preventive maintenance schedules to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
- Technical Skills: Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs, and maintain vehicle appearance and verify vehicle performance.
- Cost Control: Contain costs by using warranty and evaluating service and parts options.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with job skills and latest trends in participating education and guidelines.
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair, and ability to lift heavy equipment.
- Experience: 1 year of experience working on diesel engines or technical training in a service industry is desired.
