Job Title: CNC Grind Machinist

Princeton Tool, a leading manufacturer of critical hardware, is seeking an experienced CNC Grind Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Grind Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating surface grinding machines to create smooth surfaces compliant to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and operate CNC creep feed grinders to achieve high precision and accuracy
  • Verify machine settings prior to operation to ensure optimal performance
  • Follow specifications according to customer or internal work instructions to ensure quality and consistency
  • Perform precision deburr using handpiece and scope to achieve smooth surfaces
  • Conduct 1st part, in-process, and last piece inspection using various gauges, comparator, and/or CMM to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Collect and document measurement data to track progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Perform basic machine maintenance according to PM schedule to ensure optimal performance and extend machine lifespan
  • Manage consumables inventory to ensure timely replenishment and minimize downtime
  • Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions to ensure seamless operation
  • Make tooling design and optimization recommendations to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Troubleshoot and correct tool or equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Train and mentor additional personnel to cover increasing production and ensure knowledge transfer
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of relevant CNC surface grinding experience
  • Proven track record with consistent industry applicable employment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to demonstrate a solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Understanding of basic fixture and tool design
  • Ability to perform basic shop math and computer (PC) literacy
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team or minimally supervised setting
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to contribute to organizational goals with a creative, positive, and collaborative approach to projects
