About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Technology and Cyber Audit to join our team at PenFed Credit Union. As a key member of our Internal Audit department, you will be responsible for leading the technology and cyber audit portfolio, developing and executing a risk-based audit plan, and ensuring high-quality, timely audit reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive audit plan for assigned departments, addressing key regulatory requirements and mitigating potential risk.
  • Monitor the assigned audit universe for changing risks and identify and address audit coverage requirements.
  • Provide oversight in the audit plan execution, reviewing and providing guidance on audit scope, risk, and controls, testing procedures, and formulating audit results.
  • Direct and lead technology-related audits within the assigned portfolio, business integrated audits, and targeted audits focused on platform initiatives.
  • Develop the audit team through on-the-job training, real-time feedback, and coaching for career development and audit performance.
  • Effectively communicate complex audit reporting and implications to various levels of management, both orally and in writing.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Vice President to prepare and deliver materials and responses for regulators.
  • Assist the Senior Vice President with executing and evolving department strategy and governance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience assessing the risk of and/or auditing information technology and cyber.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the cybersecurity and tech audit portfolio independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong background in cybersecurity assessments, including applying risk management principles to a cybersecurity environment and leveraging cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Prior experience working in the financial services industry is strongly preferred.
