Compressor Specialist

Job Summary:

The Field Engineer provides technical support and field assistance to customers and service branches. Primary functions include failure analysis of returned parts, troubleshooting at customer sites, and snapshot analysis. The Field Engineer also provides technical support and on-site startup assistance for HOERBIGER's line of control and monitoring products (xCOM products) and serves as the technical lead for compressor overhaul projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and respond to field inquiries and reports regarding reciprocating compressor behavior.
• Perform inspections and failure analysis on returned parts, maintaining records of cause and corrective actions.
• Assist in generating project documentation and provide on-site support for projects.
• Conduct snapshot analyses and communicate results with customers.
• Identify and specify upgrades to maximize compressor reliability.
• Travel (50% to 60%) for field support and customer visits.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, an individual must possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering and two to five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technical Skills:

• Basic mechanical and electrical skills, familiarity with tools and safe work practices.
• Understanding of reciprocating machinery, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
• Technical writing ability to create detailed reports.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications.
• Desirable experience in machinery condition monitoring and mechanical systems commissioning and troubleshooting.

Work Environment:

The Field Engineer works in an industrial environment, occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, low and medium voltage electrical systems, and high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
