Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room at Johnston-Willis Hospital, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to promoting educational opportunities, specialty certifications, and clinical advancement.
Our 16 Suite OR performs a variety of surgical procedures, including Da Vinci, Trauma, Orthopedic, Cardiothoracic, ENT, Vascular, Pediatric, Urology, Plastic, and General Surgeries.
Johnston-Willis Hospital is recognized for performing the highest number of Da Vinci robotic surgeries in Central Virginia and is the first facility in Virginia to achieve designation as a Center of Excellence in Robotics Surgery.
In this collaborative environment, you will be responsible for supporting all team members in the department.
As a team member, you will monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions as necessary using computerized documentation systems.
Our nurses serve as the primary coordinators for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
As a nurse on our team, participation in an On-Call rotation is required, with a callback time of 30 minutes.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Perioperative RN or completion of a Perioperative Nurse course.
- Scrubbing or surgical assistant experience is preferred.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Board of Health Professions.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
