Position Overview

Gestalt Community Schools is a network of K-12 college-preparatory charter institutions dedicated to fostering academic excellence in specific Tennessee communities. Our schools are committed to delivering exceptional educational outcomes for our students through active community engagement. Role Responsibilities:

As a Science Educator at Gestalt Community Schools, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing comprehensive lesson plans that align with educational standards.
  • Delivering a curriculum grounded in common core principles.
  • Effectively incorporating technology into educational practices.
  • Inspiring students to achieve their academic goals.
  • Engaging with parents to discuss student performance and behavior.
  • Creating individualized improvement plans for students.
  • Collaborating with special education professionals in a co-teaching environment.
  • Participating in collaborative planning with school and network teams.
  • Attending mandatory professional development sessions on a weekly basis.
  • Developing and evaluating student assessments.
  • Providing tutoring and fulfilling additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A valid Tennessee teaching license in Science with the necessary endorsements (Required).
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • A demonstrated history of academic achievement as evidenced by assessment data (Preferred).
  • A strong belief in the potential of all students to excel academically.
  • Proficiency in utilizing digital resources, technology integration, and project-based learning methodologies.
  • The ability to thrive in an extended-day educational setting.
  • Experience teaching in an inclusive environment alongside a co-teacher.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • A collaborative spirit with strong interpersonal abilities.
