Job Summary

Staff Today Inc is seeking a highly skilled Psychologist to join our team. As a Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing mental health services to patients in a correctional facility. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial mental health evaluations, including assessments of criminal, psychological, and substance abuse case history
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that reflect the standard of practice
  • Provide crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, and face-to-face interviews with patients
  • Collaborate with treatment teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Document all care provided to patients, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Establish and maintain collaborative ties with community programs, groups, and agencies to develop supportive relationships
  • Conduct mental health education and develop additional resources for patients
  • Assist patients in applying for entitlement benefits and community programs
  • Participate in IDTT meetings and compile and analyze data from audits
  • Provide written reports and consult with the Board of Prison Hearing and other CDCR staff
Requirements
  • Minimum 1-year previous working experience within the last 36 months as a Psychologist
  • Must be proficient in the English language and be able to communicate effectively
  • Ability to build rapport with patients and staff
  • Strong leadership qualities and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
  • Must have the required licenses, permits, and/or certifications in the state of CA
