Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

ASRC Federal Holding Company is seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at the Plum Island Animal Disease Research Center. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of all plant processes and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and non-routine maintenance and repair of mechanical components within the wastewater treatment plant.
- Ensure the safe operation and monitoring of water and wastewater works, distribution, and collection facilities.
- Obtain and analyze samples, make necessary system adjustments to improve treatment and/or water quality, and maintain records and logs of operations.
- Maintain inventories of raw materials and chemicals necessary to run the system.
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your whole body, including climbing ladders, reaching overhead, and lifting up to 50lbs.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- NYS Class IIA Public Water Certificate.
- 2A / 3A Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate.
- New York State Grade C Water Treatment Plant Certificate.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be eligible for PIADC clearance and possess a valid driver's license.
