Affordable Housing Community Operations Manager

We manage a multi-family property consisting of 88 units, specifically Project Based Section 8.

Position Summary: We are in search of a skilled and experienced Community Operations Manager with a strong background in Yardi Voyager software to supervise the daily functions of our affordable housing properties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities, outstanding communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all facets of property management, including leasing, rent collection, maintenance, and resident engagement, in compliance with affordable housing regulations and company policies.
  • Leverage Yardi Voyager software to proficiently manage property finances, encompassing budgeting, rent roll management, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Direct the leasing process, which includes marketing available units, conducting property tours, screening potential tenants, and finalizing lease agreements.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant affordable housing programs, including Project Based Section 8, while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Supervise on-site personnel, including leasing agents, maintenance staff, and administrative team members, providing guidance and support as necessary.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive community atmosphere by organizing resident events, addressing resident inquiries, and fostering a sense of belonging and pride among residents.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of maintenance and repair tasks, while upholding high standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in property management, particularly in affordable housing communities.
  • Strong expertise in Yardi Voyager software, with specific experience in Yardi Affordable Housing.
  • In-depth knowledge of affordable housing regulations and programs, including Project Based Section 8.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with residents, staff, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a history of motivating and developing teams to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail.
