Your Role:

The Ecological Project Leader (EPL) is responsible for spearheading business development initiatives, serving as a technical advisor to the design team, and overseeing the project management division. This role is pivotal in ensuring client satisfaction, adherence to regulations, and fostering effective collaboration among team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in leadership discussions and collaborate with fellow Directors.
  • Ensure timely responses to project inquiries and participate in initial client consultations.
  • Work together on design strategies and plans within consulting agreements.
  • Build networks to secure new project opportunities and enhance professional connections.
  • Lead presentations on regulatory compliance and technical project details at review meetings.
  • Assist the design team in preparing permit applications.
  • Directly manage select high-profile clients and act as the primary escalation point for all projects.
  • Oversee a team of Project Managers, evaluating their performance and guiding their career development.
  • Conduct site evaluations to assess progress, compliance, and quality assurance.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in team management.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management within a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • Technical proficiency in ecological restoration and environmental permitting.
  • Expertise in presenting projects to regulatory compliance review boards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with design software is advantageous.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS, and GPS technologies.
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, local regulations, and conservation commission project review processes.
  • Extensive experience with native plant ecosystems, invasive species management, ecological restoration, and bioengineering construction.
  • Familiarity with accounting or client relationship management software such as Sage or Timberline.
  • Valid Driver's License and capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
