About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Fairview Health Services. As an ICU Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and Plan Care: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying expected nursing outcomes and developing individualized care plans.
  • Implement and Evaluate Care: Implement evidence-based interventions to address patients' needs, evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
  • Communicate Effectively: Utilize effective communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes, coordinating care with members of the healthcare team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate.
  • Advance Care: Demonstrate the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Promote a Culture of Evidence-Based Practice: Participate in a multitude of available opportunities to promote a culture of evidence-based practice.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through a healthcare provider.
  • Critical Care Experience: One year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care or intermediate care setting.
  • Degree in Nursing: Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
  • RN License: Current RN license in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Critical Care Experience: Previous experience in a critical care setting.
  • Preceptor Experience: Experience as a preceptor for new graduate nurses.
  • Telemetry Experience: Experience with telemetry monitoring.
  • ACLS: Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing: Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
