Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Direct Support Professional to join our team at the Department of Human Services. As a key member of our community-based services team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and other complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess individual needs and develop personalized support plans to promote personal growth and independence.
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals in our short- and long-term housing program.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and services.
  • Respond therapeutically to individuals with challenging behaviors using de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports.
Requirements
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and/or co-occurring diagnoses.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with individuals, families, and teams.
  • Ability to perform all physical/essential requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience collecting and summarizing data to document program delivery.
  • Formal training or certification in a related field (CNA, PCA, Child Development, First Aid, CPR, etc.).
  • Certified Nursing Assistant experience working in a group home, nursing home, or similar setting.
