Position Overview

As a vital member of our cleaning team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our patients, families, visitors, and staff enjoy a pleasant environment by maintaining and sanitizing your designated areas within Nicklaus Children's Health System.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • Cleaning and maintaining your assigned areas by collecting supplies, restocking carts, disposing of waste, and disinfecting restrooms (including showers, sinks, and toilets).
  • Promptly addressing and cleaning emergency spills and debris.
  • Ensuring that all cleaning equipment is functioning properly.
  • Disposing of trash and soiled linens in accordance with established protocols.
  • Restocking supplies and linens as needed.
  • Reporting any safety hazards or equipment defects immediately.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to all patients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Welcoming patients and families courteously upon entering their rooms.
Specialized Cleaning Tasks

You will also be responsible for performing specialized cleaning tasks, such as:

  • Conducting terminal cleanings when required, which involves deep cleaning procedures using disinfectants, wiping down walls, cleaning under beds, high dusting, and changing curtains.
Communication and Responsiveness

Responding to verbal requests, alarm signals, radio communications, and telephone inquiries within the designated time frame as instructed by your supervisor.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service is advantageous.
  • The ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Effective communication skills for requesting supplies and documenting necessary information.
  • Experience in housekeeping and/or maintenance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of floor care techniques is a plus.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and constructively with clients and team members.
  • Capability to follow straightforward instructions to complete repetitive tasks.
  • Strong customer service skills.
