Adjunct Faculty Position in Fine Arts

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, temporary (adjunct) faculty position in the Art Department. This position is filled as needed through ongoing recruitment, and applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs.
As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean, helping students achieve their full potential in mastering course content, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in your regular teaching field. You will also be expected to continue professional development, utilize current technology in the performance of job duties, and maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.
The instructional assignment may encompass teaching courses across all levels in the discipline of fine arts, including drawing and composition, design, and painting. Specific courses offered may vary by campus, and you will be expected to teach a range of courses, including ART 300, ART 302, ART 320, ART 334, and ART 336. To be considered for this position, you must have a master's degree in fine arts, art, or art history, or a bachelor's degree in any of the above and a master's degree in humanities. You must also have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. You will be required to provide official transcripts, if required to meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and to submit a Los Rios Community College District Application, resume or curriculum vitae, letter of interest, and unofficial transcripts from college/university.

Minimum Qualifications
- Have a master's degree in fine arts, art, or art history; OR bachelor's degree in any of the above and master's degree in humanities; OR, the equivalent*. All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by time of hire.
- Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.
