Position Overview:
We are seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for PRN or float pool roles. Float Associates will provide support across both Life Care Center of Kennewick and Richland.

Key Responsibilities:
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for delivering direct rehabilitation care in physical therapy to patients based on physician referrals, under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT), in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program (ASPT)
- Currently registered or licensed in the applicable state, with an active license in good standing throughout employment
- Preferred: One (1) year of experience in a post-acute care or similar environment
- CPR certification required upon hire or to be obtained during orientation; must remain current during employment
Specific Job Requirements:
- Engage in community health initiatives as appropriate
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and support departments to assess patient needs
- Demonstrate proper body mechanics consistently
- Make independent decisions when necessary
- Knowledgeable about practices, procedures, and regulations governing post-acute care facilities
- Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Perform competently in all areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain professional relationships with all associates and vendors
- Ensure confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
- Adhere to company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
- Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following Life Care's Code of Conduct and completing mandatory compliance training
Essential Functions:
- Follow physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising PT
- Document appropriately and in a timely manner
- Utilize therapy software accurately
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients
- Assist in patient evacuation when necessary
- Demonstrate reliable attendance
- Utilize reasoning skills and good judgment
- Communicate effectively and work productively within an interdisciplinary team
- Perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during working hours
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language proficiently
