We are seeking a skilled and compassionate RN School Nurse to join our team at Amergis. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to students in a school setting.
Job Summary:The RN School Nurse will be responsible for overseeing the application of the nursing process and delivering student care in a school setting. This includes utilizing the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate student care needs, as well as performing interventions, treatments, and medications administration according to identified priorities.
Key Responsibilities:- Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate student care needs
- Perform interventions, treatments, and medications administration according to identified priorities
- Monitor and document effectiveness of interventions, treatments, and medications
- Coordinate and facilitate services as requested between the school, local health agencies, and other community resources to meet the needs of the student
- Communicate with school district personnel about student's plan of care
- Notify District School Nurse/Parent/Physician as outlined in the IHP regarding changes in condition of student and Physician notification to obtain necessary orders
- Evaluate and assure student safety at all times
- Adhere to Amergis Healthcare and school district policies
- Maintain accuracy in student health record
- Adhere to district protocol and policy at all times
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing
- One year of school nursing experience, preferred
- Pediatric experience, preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
