Multimedia Content Creator

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Multimedia Content Creator to join our team at the City of Gary, Indiana. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, capturing, editing, and managing compelling photo and video content for social media, advertising, and public access TV.

Key Responsibilities

Plans, captures, edits, and manages high-quality audio, photo, and video footage using professional-grade equipment.
Collaborates with the communications and media team to produce video, photos, graphics, and other visual assets as needed.
Works with stakeholders to plan, prototype, and generate creative ideas for visual communication, ensuring alignment with the City of Gary brand standards.
Schedules recording sessions with clients and designated key stakeholders, ensuring timely and efficient production.
Sets up cameras, microphones, lighting, and other equipment at various locations, ensuring a professional and high-quality output.
Ensures capture of high-quality audio, photo, and video footage, checking for errors, glitches, and inconsistencies.
Fully manages the editing/post-production process, including color correction, audio clean-up, visual effects, captions, and graphics.
Uses Adobe Creative Cloud applications and other modern digital tools to create, edit, test, and publish digital content.
Checks for consistency in visual branding across all content and ensures all files meet industry standards and channel specifications.
Assists the team with properly labeling, organizing, and archiving all content and footage in all formats.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., communications, media studies, or a related field).
2 years of work experience in a related field (e.g., multimedia content creation, digital media production, or a related field).
Excellent communication skills, with strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Proven experience using modern digital tools to create, edit, test, and publish digital content.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work with diverse cultural groups within the United States.
Servant leadership skills, with a willingness to share knowledge, collaborate on shared goals, and serve with empathy within the team.
