Job Summary

Chenega Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to provide anesthesia services at Keller Army Community Hospital in West Point, NY.

Responsibilities
  • Administer anesthesia by inhalation, endotracheal intubation, regional, intravenous, and topical methods.
  • Provide pain management and consultation services.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement anesthesia plans.
  • Perform procedures such as arterial catheter placement, endotracheal and nasotracheal intubation, and central venous catheter insertions.
  • Manage patient-controlled analgesia, intrathecal, and epidural procedures.
  • Initiate and manage mechanical ventilator support.
  • Monitor and maintain patient vital signs and life functions.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by a state accrediting agency.
  • Completed an accredited educational program for advanced practice as a certified nurse practitioner, certified nurse midwife, CRNA, or certified clinical nurse specialist.
  • Possess a certification as a CRNA and an active, unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse.
  • Minimum three years of experience in anesthesia care.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word Suite.
  • Ability to promptly and properly respond to cardiopulmonary arrests.
  • Ability to demonstrate age-specific competency in patient care.
  • Ability to independently perform procedures such as arterial catheter placement, endotracheal and nasotracheal intubation, and central venous catheter insertions.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit and talk or hear for extended periods.
  • Ability to use repeated motions with the arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Ability to occasionally walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
