Job Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant will assist the nursing staff in providing direct and indirect patient care under the guidance and direction of the registered nurse. This includes performing various tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support to patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with patient care activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
  • Take vital signs and record patient information
  • Assist with activities of daily living such as toileting, transferring, and ambulating
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients
  • Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments and arranging transportation
  • Deliver specimens and supplies to appropriate locations
  • Operate sterilization equipment and perform sterilization on instruments
Requirements:
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the Mississippi State Department of Health
  • CPR (Heartsaver or BLS) certification within 90 days of employment
  • No experience required
Physical and Environmental Demands:

This role requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environments, including high noise levels and exposure to heat and cold. The successful candidate must be able to lift, reposition, and transport patients, linen carts, dietary trays, and other equipment using proper body mechanics.
