About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Newborn Care Specialist to join our team at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated healthcare professional to make a meaningful difference in the lives of newborns and their families.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will provide primary care as part of a health care team in an ambulatory setting, working closely with patients, families, and other clinic personnel. Key responsibilities include:

  • Obtaining health histories and performing comprehensive physical and gestational age assessments
  • Collaborating with the Neonatologist regarding plan of care
  • Ordering and interpreting lab results and other diagnostic studies
  • Developing differential diagnoses and therapeutic plans
  • Maintaining patient records and evaluating patient response to care

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, with current RN licensure in the State of Texas or ability to transfer license. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate specialty is also required.
