POSITION SUMMARY:

This role involves a Cost Management Analyst position aimed at facilitating cost oversight for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects associated with Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facilities.

The financial scope of these initiatives ranges from $300 million to over $10 billion. The primary objective of this position is to assist in the establishment, execution, and maintenance of a thorough cost management framework. This encompasses cost estimation, budget formulation, cost monitoring and control, forecasting, and performance assessment and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Transform cost estimates into controlled budgets.
  • Develop and oversee detailed project budgets.
  • Assist in bid assessments.
  • Analyze scope change orders.
  • Compile Monthly Cost Reports.
  • Manage cost codes, tracking and reporting project commitments, actuals, and accruals.
  • Generate reports and performance metrics to monitor earned value, project performance, cash flow, resource distribution, and costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Reassess remaining project costs using performance indicators, sound judgment, and impact analysis.
  • Identify negative trends based on project performance.
  • Review and evaluate vendors' and contractors' monthly invoices.
  • Support the Finance department in developing Cash Flow projections.
  • Prepare formal presentations on cost management topics.
QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Accounting, Business Management, or Finance is required.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in cost management for major Oil, Gas, Power, or LNG projects.

Proficient understanding of Engineering and Construction methodologies and their cost implications.

Familiarity with project control techniques for comprehensive project lifecycle execution.

Experience with major Cost Management software is preferred.

Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is advantageous.

Strong analytical capabilities, with advanced proficiency in spreadsheets, charts, and presentations.

Advanced user of MS Excel, with a good understanding of MS PowerPoint and Word.

Demonstrated judgment, trustworthiness, and discretion in managing sensitive and confidential information.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively during busy periods.

Ability to identify and implement necessary actions with minimal guidance.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Initial assignments may require relocation to project sites during construction phases.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Effective communication at all organizational levels is essential to ensure clarity in expectations, requirements, and deliverables. Strong analytical skills are a must.
