Position Overview:

The Lead Respiratory Therapist plays a pivotal role in overseeing the functions of Respiratory Care Practitioners. This position involves the development and dissemination of policies and procedures while performing clinical responsibilities to guarantee the highest quality and continuity of care.

As an integral member of the management team, this role serves as a consultant to both the clinical team and medical staff regarding respiratory clinical practices and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all critical care skill sets, excluding pediatric transport.
  • Address staffing shortages as directed by the Respiratory Manager.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with medical and patient care leadership across all critical care units.
  • Ensure competency in all clinical and diagnostic procedures relevant to the department.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:
Possess a foundational professional knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor's degree, with a comprehensive understanding of theory and practice in a specialized field.

Field of Study:
Respiratory Care - Cardiopulmonary Sciences

Experience:
3-5 years in a relevant role.


Certifications and Licenses:
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications
  • CPR Certification from the American Heart Association
  • Registered by the NBRC
