About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Attorney to join our Employment team in the Legal and Compliance Department at The Standard. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our efforts to comply with labor and employment law obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and counsel on employment and labor law matters, including benefit issues, leaves of absence, and accommodations.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to internal stakeholders, including Management and Human Resources.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of potential legislation and regulatory developments and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Draft and review complex employment documents, including offer letters, employment agreements, and separation agreements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of internal policies and procedures to support the growth of the Company.
  • Effectively gather and synthesize diverse sets of requirements from stakeholders to inform decision-making.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Jurisprudence and admitted to practice in state bar of residence or other relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of six years of experience providing employment law advice and counsel.
  • Experience in-house employment law advice and counsel to a national employer is preferred.
