Job Summary

Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a highly skilled Inventory Technician to join our team. As an Inventory Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical and manual tasks involved in the handling, storage, and issuing of various supplies, materials, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform inventory control functions for General Stores, including re-stocking shelves, re-organizing stock locations, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Process requisitions via electronic data entry and transport supplies and equipment to appropriate hospital departments.
  • Manage and maintain inventory control functions for assigned pre-stocked departments, including requisition maintenance.
  • Restock utilizing proper rotation, organization, identification, documentation, and proper location.
  • Adjust inventory levels on pre-stocked departments as needed to maintain the most efficient and optimum stocking levels.
  • Participate in the delivery of non-stock supplies throughout the hospital.
  • Monitor all stock and OR non-stock items to ensure items do not become outdated.
  • Serve as a backup to others within the storeroom and mailroom position.
  • Work in receiving and perform all receiving activities as requested.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic accounting, reading, and math skills required.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision required.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and understand the Materials Management System commensurate with assigned duties.
  • Ethical and professional behavioral characteristics and attitudes required.
