Job Summary:

Clayton County Public Schools is seeking a skilled Cafeteria Monitor to oversee the lunch period for elementary students. This part-time position requires supervision, maintenance of a clean environment, and adherence to cafeteria procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain acceptable standards of behavior in the cafeteria
  • Supervise students entering and leaving the cafeteria, assisting with seating and monitoring social behavior
  • Enforce cafeteria procedures and rules
  • Maintain an orderly, clean, and appetizing environment for students to eat lunch
  • Report inappropriate student behavior to relevant personnel

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience working in a school cafeteria preferred
  • Light independent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Work Environment:

This is a school setting, primarily in the cafeteria. The position involves light duty, with regular standing and occasional sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying 20 pounds or less is required.
